Marcus and Margaret in Cambodia

Margaret Sadler, writer, editor and instructional designer, and Marcus Busch, social work consultant with Edmonton (Alberta) Public Schools, spent a year volunteering in a church-run school in northern Japan (1992-93) and another year in Mauritania, West Africa (2000-01), working in communications as ELCIC Volunteers in Mission for the Lutheran World Federation (LWF) World Service. For their third sabbatical year, these very active members of Hosanna Lutheran Church in Edmonton have a similar communications assignment in the LWF World Service office in Cambodia from August 2007 to July 2008.

    Hello you two!

I was scanning through the CLWR site and saw your names posted about your mission in Cambodia. Looks like things are going really well for you.

Kate and I miss Hosanna in Edmonton, but things are going really well for us here. We are in Meadow Lake, SK now, both teaching in town (I changed gears and got my Education degree 2 summers ago). Kate teaches French Immersion, and I teach high school (technology subjects).

Our school board has a sabbatical option that we are considering. I remembered that you two had done that in the past, (and it seems are still utilizing that option). We would be 5 years away from our first sabbatical at this point. I was just doing some preliminary research about available international opportunities. I didn’t expect to see you in Cambodia though :-)

    best wishes… God Bless!
